About SNE Cares

SNE Cares is an Oakland based nonprofit organization that leads with love, tackling systemic inequality, reducing social service dependency, and building sustainable communities rooted in our shared ancestry and values.

We promote sustainable practices to address environmental challenges and champion resource stewardship, integrating mental wellness and sustainability into our programs. Our mission is to empower underserved communities through education, creativity, and resource accessibility, encouraging self-sufficiency, resilience, and social change for a more equitable future.

Our focus areas include self-sufficiency, food sovereignty, climate resiliency, financial literacy, art, creative expression, and physical/mental health. By reducing barriers, we offer services in schools and community spaces where children and families reside, ensuring accessibility.

Our staff and volunteers are composed of members from the communities they serve, which helps children and families feel safe and trusting of those offering support, creating trust and safety for families. Together, we draw strength from our heritage and interconnectedness to uplift communities through compassion and sustainable solutions.

Our mission is to uplift underserved communities through compassion, sustainable solutions, and empowerment. Through partnerships, advocacy, and community-driven initiatives, we strive to build strength, self-sufficiency, and meaningful social change for a more equitable future.

Our Vision

We envision a thriving community ecosystem where black and brown people are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to reach their full potential. Through education and collaboration, we set out to build a self-sufficient society that values and celebrates diversity, heritage, and interconnectedness. Together, we will nurture a future where every person has the opportunity to achieve success and make a positive impact in their communities.
